Glenridge, March 4 and March 11, 2020

-- 01 March 2020 | TMA

Undergraduate research from Reading the Middle Ages course with Dr. Teresa Russo will be presented this week and next week at Brock University with the support of the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (MARS). Students present their academic poster projects featuring the Medieval heroic and the chivalric.

The first annual conference will focus on Old English texts, such as Beowulf, Judith, the Elegies, Battle of Maldon, Battle of Brunanburh, and History of the Kings of Britain. Some students will compare heroic literature to the French songs, such as the Song of Roland. Students also study Middle English texts and will draw comparisons of battles and heroes from these texts and analyze women’s role in the heroic and chivalric literary genre. For more information or to attend the event contact, Dr. Russo at trusso@brocku.ca or the Centre at MARS@brocku.ca.
